If we are friends on social media, you know I have not posted about our Belgium adventure. You have learned our plans by text, email, phone call, at church, playing golf and tennis or over tea on a screened porch contemplating a big life change. Why? At first we worried we should keep our travels and plans quiet due to Scott’s job. But as we have gotten comfortable with everything we decided that wasn’t an issue. However, I had thought about the benefits of a blog and I decided to use this as a way to document our experience so we (Scott, Connor and I) can look back at some point and remember all our adventures. But I also decided it would be a good way for me to work through the highs and lows. I have never been good at journaling, so this is my attempt at doing that at this time in my life.
What will you find in this blog? First, my goal is to post photos and keep you updated as if I were seeing you for lunch, tennis, coffee, golf, a walk, after church or having a phone call. What you will not find in this blog is perfect grammer (purposely spelled wrong!). I am a decent writer, but I am not an editor, publicist or English teacher. I will not toil hours over a post. I will do my best to convey our experience in somewhat entertaining and interesting prose. So if you can bypass the errors and just enjoy the content, then you are in the right spot. There are some that may struggle with this, and I love you for it!
I am also keeping a blog because I do have loved ones that are not on social media, yes it is true in this modern world! I want them to enjoy our happenings too. And finally, given the time change (6-hours ahead of east coast time), having phone calls is more challenging. There are several loved ones that I routinely call while walking Bucky that I am going to miss greatly! Bucky will also miss the dynamic banter.
More to come…!
