Belgium is a show-off this time of year with its flowers on full display! And well they should, it is lovely and a much needed break from the dreary rain and lack of sunshine. What a change of scenery! In this post I want to share photos from the past few weeks and give a few highlights of where and how these views occurred. I have two other posts I hope to complete in the coming weeks with travel updates, but for now I thought everyone would enjoy the eye candy!

First, a hike through the forest with views of wild flowers that included a white flower that smells exactly like garlic! In fact, you smell garlic as you walk in the forest. Lots of laughter with the NIC ladies on this hike.

Second and very heartwarming….the Americans came to Belgium and invited me to join their flower tour on a Monday and a Thursday. They invited and I said yes, where do I go?! These ladies were on a 2-week trip and spent a few days in Belgium. I met them in Ghent one day and out in the country west of Brussels the second day. It was so fun to spend two days with these ladies from the U.S. some I knew and others are now friends. In Ghent we had a tour guide through the city and got to view a spectacular painting in the Ghent cathedral – a famous large scale triptych at Saint Bavo’s Cathedral known as the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb from the 1400s. Just beautiful. Our second day was in the studio where we created floral table designs and had a lovely lunch outside. Such a blessing to see these ladies!

And finally, I went to the Floralien 2026 show in Ghent to see the amazing floral designs from creative artists around the region that only happens every four years. I was so happy to be able to get there last week. Truly spectacular. I don’t have words to describe the works of art, instead I will let these photos speak for themselves. Enjoy the eye candy!

Note – take a second to open each pic as the grand scale of each design should not be missed!
